You guys are cracking me up! I got a GREAT deal on thread at Joann's the weekend before Christmas. They had all of their Gueterman thread on sale for 50% off, including bundles. I was looking at the bundles of about 20 spools and my mom finds this thread display cabinet of 100 spools of thread, it's the only one. It was $159.99 for 100 spools of thread. We asked if this was 50% off also and it was! While we were talking to the sales lady, 2 other people were just waiting for my mom to put down this thread! LOL Anyway, I got this thread cabinet with 100 spools of different colored thread for $79.99, actually $40 because my mom gave me $40 for the other half! I love looking at all the colors! I'll start sewing again in a couple of weeks, I have to get my house in order and some appointments made, etc. I can't wait!

Great thread find, Kim! Good for you. I'm currently looking for the best on-line buy for machine embroidery thread.

Yeah, I need machine embroidery thread as well. When I bought my machine I got my first 50 spools at allbrands.com. I use the Robsin-Anton thread, I really like it. But 50 colors really isn't enough. I would like to get at least 50 more if not 100. Let me know if you find a place other than allbrands!
Thanks!~Kim~

Kim, what a fantastic deal - don't you just feel like a kid in the candy shop with all those lucious threads!!

Oh, I am so envious of you guys that have a JA's......mine is in a state of flux right now........
Mine is getting ready to move and when I was in the one before Xmas they had almost NOTHING as they hadn't gotten any shipments in........they don't open the new store until Feb. But it is going to be huge so that will be nice. They are moving into an old Circuit City store - and you know how big they were.
YAHOOOOOOO.........wish it would hurry up!

My thread stash is slowly dwindling down....but mostly I quilt using shades of gray. My embroidery machine has learned to enjoy regular thread, and I prefer the flat color rather than shiny. My serger has gray, white and black, and I run bobbins in color when needed. So, I'm on a buy as needed basis.....can't remember the last time I bought a spool of thread......
