Sewing Club - February 2010
Starting us up.
I hope most of my sewing this month is on quilts.
What are your plans?

I am going to make those coasters!!
We are also make a baby quilt using squares with the preschoolers handprints in February as a present for a student teacher who worked with us last semester.
And I am sure that there will be other things that come up too!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Debbie - I received luggage tags from a craft show that are different. They attach to the luggage handle. As soon as I find where I carefully put them, I'll post pictures and measurements.

I want to get started on a duvet cover, but haven't been able to find any large cording for making piping. I may have to order some online. I guess I could get some pillow covers made or start the curtains. I haven't made curtains like this before and will just have to wing it, I guess.

FABRIC CLEARANCE!!!
Wal-Mart will no longer have a fabric section ( I know MA & NH stores for sure and the lady said it would be nationwide) I bought tons of fabric 50-75% off, including by-the-yard ribbons/trims!!!

Both male and female....ages 10 and up FF. I like the coasters and the placemat pillows and the placemat totes. Just trying to think of other things as well. My one nephew is a hockey nut so I was thinking of a pillow in the shape of a hockey stick for his bed. My other two nephews are into hunting and fishing. Then I would like to find small things for my Mom's stocking and other smallish things for gift baskets. I gotta start checking out the blogs for ideas.

Walmart ...... we've still got a chance here...... we don't have anything but quilt shops, no Joannes, etc. So the big wigs are reviewing the possibility. The cutting counter is always crowded. But we'll survive. Joanne's is 2 hrs away. so I guess I'll become a online shopper. Cause gas is more than shipping.

That's a bummer VL. Hope you get to keep the fabric section - bet you won't though. Wouldn't give them the 'buying power' if they aren't buying for all the stores.
Let me know.....I have a GOB of on-line sites and some are pretty reasonable. The connecting threads is decent but for me I have to pay sales tax as they are in Washington.......UGH....hate that. If they aren't in WA I don't have to pay it...........yet. The Gov. is working on it.
