    Lightbulb Thread Catcher/Scrap Bag...My Version

I was reading some posts this morning and came across this one by "dwnloom" about needing a pattern for a thread catcher:

I decided I needed one really bad, lol!

    So, here it is!!!

I used the 1st link in that thread to make mine. Mine is the bucket/bag ONLY. I did not feel I needed anymore pin cushions and I needed to be able carry my bag around from room to room and one work area to the other because I work all over the house and also when I go on vacation. Finished size is 6" tall by 5" wide with a 3" wide bottom. I didn't have the strapping that the poster called for but I did have a 36" long plastic tie-strap that is sturdy but flexible so I cut that 17" long and inserted it into my pre-made casing. I also covered a littled piece of cardboard for the bottom but it wasn't really necessary. The bag stands up on it own.

Love your choice in fabrics. So spring-like. Here is another link for those wanting to make one without a pin cushion. http://thestitchingroom.blogspot.com...r-pattern.html
