My "unfrugal" sewing today...
I was so happy a couple of weeks ago to get a brand new (pink!!) rotary cutter. I had a coupon for Joanns for 40% off and then another coupon for 10% off my entire purchase. I got my rotary cutter for a great price, I think.
Well, I was using it today to cut out a tote bag and it slipped and I cut my left index finger with it. Deep, too. I had to go get FIVE stitches...and a tetanus shot.
So, my fantastic deal of a rotary cutter ended up costing me $125 for my emergency room copay. Not to mention that it hurt like hell.
The lesson here is to be careful!! Those things are SHARP! LOL

Oh GEES elpha...............OUCH!!!

I am sure it did hurt!!!....BE CAREFUL!!
knock on wood here....I have only come close - as in skimmed---one knuckle that was sticking to far over the ruler ONE TIME...and that was enough to bring sweat to my brow!!!
Maybe you better get some of those 'meat cutter' gloves to wear while using it!

~Oh I'm sorry! I know how scary those cuts are. My 5yo dd sliced her finger with mine last year. Luckily it did not need stitches and DH was there to take care of the bloody part.
I use a quilter's ruler with a finger protector rail when I use my cutter. You may want to invest in one of those.

I didn't know they had those rails for the rulers! I'll have to look into that.
My mom says she's buying me one of the gloves they have. LOL

Be sure to always pull the blade back to a safe position before you lay the cutter down too. They are very sharp. Hope you heal fast.
