Yo Yo Maker
Does anyone here use a yo yo maker? I am not a big time sewing person...but I do own a machine and like to make small things here and there. Lately I have been making a lot of yo-yo's as a means to kill time...and they are addicting!
I have seen some places online that sell yo-yo makers. Basically a little plastic template that holds the hem in place and makes sure your stitches are even. It looks helpful, but I wasn't sure if it was worth it?
Any input?

Interesting question Jeni!! Have never seen a yoyo maker - just made them by hand - what do you make out of your yoyos?

I have seen it and I think it is a waste of money. For the plain round ones anyway. Having a template for the shapes might be nice.

I'm also making yo-yos and I can whip one out in under a minute. The stitches don't have to be perfect, it's just an ordinary running stitch. After you've made a couple you'll get into a rhythm.Use it up, Wear it out,

MM- to answer your question...I don't know what I'm making yet...but I've had lots of fun ideas. I want to adorn some basic bags with them and use time for Christmas gifts. And I have and interesting idea to make some jewelry out of them...we'll see how that turns out!
Right now...I'm just filling up a christmas tin with yo yo's because they are ADDICTING!

I thought the little heart one might be fun to have.
If you try it, let me know.
I have seen them at JA's.....most of the shapes.
Don't think THAT ITEM is in my 'toy box'..........yet!

They aren't that expensive----all under $10 and it depends on the size. They have multiple sizes for the circle. Use a JA coupon when they aren't on sale......even cheaper.
I would like to see a heart 'made up'........to see if you can really tell it is a heart.
My TOY CHEST???
Why---all my fun toys, of

Not saying' on the toy chest? That's okay - everyone's entitled to their secrets!!
So now we need to find someone who has experience and a sample of the heart yoyo maker. That price is too expensive for a piece of plastic, but then I'm sometimes more cheap than frugal!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I have seen the heart yoyo, it comes out kind of soft, but it is cute.
You can get free templates for these things online. Or make your own templates, just copy the shape of the one you like and then trace around it onto your fabric. That was how grandma did it!
