Default Button, Button, Who's Got the Buttons?

Thought we should devote a thread to buttons since there does seem to be a lot of interest and they are fascinating!!

Thought we could start off by asking FF to share her new finds from eBay. Please share with us FF!!

BEADS.........couldn't find the buttons I wanted so I got beads.

They are to go with DC's flowers we traded for........the ones scattered around the 'little black girl' in my avatar!

Think I will use some of my mom's old buttons too. Don't have very many but some will work and they look old too.

~I love old buttons! I usually salvage them from old clothes but I've seen them(rarely) at yard sales/thrift shops still on their old cards.
I like "retro" buttons best. Nothing fancy or expensive, just unusually retro looking plastic buttons, the best being shank style.
I'll take some pics to share later. ~

My father collects buttons too. He's got a old big cigar box that's practically full. Some are fancy with stones or golden and some are just random/odd colors and some are different shapes.

I am so sorry FF - and glad that you yelled at me - obviously ears and eyes are not working as they used to!!

However, I think that this will be a very interesting thread because of the personality of all things old - buttons, people, etc.

Am really looking forward to seeing the pictures - - and I just realized that there is more than lip gloss in my missing Walmart package - I had also picked up some cute buttons to share with someone - NOW I have to find them!!

I LOVE old buttons and as a child my grandma had a button box (tin) that I would play with for hours. I have one of my own now, in a tin, and I still like to "play" with them !!!

There is something very soothing about holding old buttons - especially the non plastic ones!!

Did I miss some posting? Did you lose a package? Or just misplaced it around the house somewhere?

I found the buttons that I got - they were in my car tucked safely away!! I feel so much better. I would post pictures, but I sent them out today, so somebody else will have to do the picture part!!

~I bought some more vintage buttons at a thrift shop this weekend. A few of them *may* be valuable. If any of you know anything about old buttons could you tell me what you think? I posted pics of them on my blog. ~

WOOHOO!!!! And now I bet I know who you expected to post the pictures?????!!!!!

I got some SUPER CUTE buttons in the mail today. And..... I guess the 'sender' thought she was being sneaky by NOT putting a return address on it............but the HAWAII postmark sort of gave you away MM!!!!!!

I got two sizes of lady bugs and two flowers..... !!!!

THANK YOU for the buttons! They are really cute!! I didn't take pics today but I will tomorrow. They are EXACTLY what I needed for my wall hanging with the kids in it. Will go perfect with Debbie-Cat's flowers.
