My WIP (Work In Progress)**FINISHED**
I am posting here with the hope that you all will hold me accountable. Lauren asked me to make a new wallet for her. I made one a few years ago from this same pattern, but now she wants one made with different fabric. The first one was flames on black, and now she wants sock monkeys
.
Here is a link to the pattern. It only uses 1 FQ (fat quarter for you quilters...1/4 yd of fabric cut the horizontal way (ie "fat") vs. how fabric is usually cut from the bolt)
Wonder Wallet
I've also attached a picture. I'm only using one fabric, but I like how using different fabrics adds some contrast & "depth" to the piece.
So far I've cut out the pieces. I am hoping to work on it later today, after I go shopping w/my parents.
Please nag me until I finish. Please LOL It should be an instant gratification project, which I really need to get back in the sewing groove.
Anyone else need "nagging"?
TIA

How cute is that?! Consider yourself nagged & I love that Lauren chose sock monkey fabric. She's going to smile every time she looks at it, not just for the irresistible charm of the monkey but knowing her Mom made it just for her.

Nah, I wish. I had to take the kids to test for their Aikido belts yesterday and then go to a family reunion. I wasn't home much yesterday, and when I was, the only time I got at my :sew: was when I sewed the girls' new stripes on their Aikido belts.
Hope to get to it today after we take my mil out for breakfast.
(ugh to the money and time spent not to the company itself lol)

Yup, I'm waiting to see the finished results!! How long would you say it takes to make one from start to finish? Does it use interfacing?

It shouldn't take that long to make, and no, it doesn't use interfacing. I just haven't had time to do much of anything since I posted this.
I have my knitting group tonight, so I had to start a project yesterday to bring.
I'm hoping to get the wallet sewn up today, but I have a lot of stuff to do around the house. We've just had a lot of family "obligations" lately and haven't been home, plus the kids were home last week for vacation.
Stay tuned.

~Why do all those pesky responsibilities always have to cut into our sewing time?
Before kids I enjoyed 6-8 hour stretches of craftiness. A great sewing day for me anymore is 3 hours pieced throughout the day.

You'll get it done Michelle - we have faith and we nag - I mean - support you totally!!
Question - so the pattern for the wallet costs $7 - or did I read that wrong? Seems a little pricey to me.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
