Smile This weekend's sewing to-do list

~My sewing corner is clean and organized. My machines are ready with fresh needles. My cut-out projects are stacked neatly and waiting for me.
So this weekend I'll be sewing up:
    30 cloth napkins
    48 handkerchiefs
    3 diapers
    4 lined tote bags
    3 hemmed shorts
embroidering a small gift for DH
and although it's not sewing I'll be making 3 custom t-shirts with iron-on's I'll print on transfer paper

I really don't think I'll have time to do all of my list but I'm going to make a stab at it.
Anyone else planning to sew this weekend? Whatcha' making?~

Wow! I hope you're able to get all that done. I think your method of having a lot cut out to sew at once is probably a lot more efficient than mine...

I was just sitting here thinking "what shall I sew next" when I saw your post. I really should make some everyday napkins so that we're not always using paper towels.

Today I've been working on some valances, but doing the woodworking part and there won't be any sewing involved.

I think I'll work on some more Soldiers' Angels pillowcases with patriotic fabric.

I love prepping everything and then having a sewing marathon- I am sooooo jealous - not only of what you have to do, but also that your sewing room is clean and organized!!

I'm going to try to use up some flannel odds and ends and make preemie blankets.

That sounds very ambitious, Nuisance! Good luck.

No sewing for me. I got two of my machines back from cleaning and tune-ups on Monday and hadn't even had a chance to put them back into the sewing room till today. We've been working like crazy all week, getting our new garden built and fenced. But maybe next week I can go back to sewing shirts. I cut out six a while back and only have three sewed so far. Then I want to make a set of five throw pillow covers.

~Debbie you need to get that machine fixed! You must have all kinds of projects piling up by the machine.
Deer, I know what you mean about being busy with outside stuff. It just so happens that today my DH is in a tournament so I'm home alone all day with the kids and no regular chores to do(did them all during the week). So it's sewing time!
I did get a chance to hem a few napkins last night while dinner was in the oven. But then I went out fishing so nothing else got done. Ready to attack today!~

Fishing with your dad is so important. I'd give anything just to be able to spend one hour on the lake again with my dad. Don't ever forget how lucky you are to be able to spend time with your dad!

Sounds like you planned well for the sewing time.

I've got a new dress pattern, I'm slightly afraid of it . It doesn't seem complicated I guess I just don't have faith in my abilities.

I'm using a light denim material bought online at deep discount $2.50 per yard so it's bound to be comfortable once I get it put together.

    Wish me luck?

Great going Ramona!! Love trying new things!!

I think I need to make some new throw pillows for our couch - tone down the red color and add some cooling aspects to the room!! Need to get this on my list!!

When I was rooting through stuff trying to organize my sewing room, I found out I have five panels with loons on them, which will make dandy throw pillow covers. They'll fit with our northwoods theme and also coordinate with the sheets I used to make the slipcovers for the couch, so that was a lucky find!

Have you done a final accounting of your sewing success this weekend Nuisance? I know that you inspired me to at least get organized. Had to move my sewing machine into the LR for now and did get the table I'm using covered with cloth so I can store my machine and sewing stuff underneath.

Great going on those finds SD? Don't you just love it when just the right fabric shows up!!

~I did about as well as I thought I would. I did cut three hours out of my sewing time to trim the front bushes, lay down landscape cloth and mulch.
    Completed:
    5/30 cloth napkins
    0/48 handkerchiefs
0/3 diapers-but one only needs trim and the three inserts are done
    1/4 lined tote bags
    0/3 hemmed shorts
X-embroidering a small gift for DH
3 custom t-shirts- designed and printed two transfers

I forgot to list the 4 fleece, reusable swiffer duster cloths I'm making. I completed 1 of those too.
No school this week so I should be able to sew in my free time all week and knock out this stuff. I just wish hemming wasn't so boring. ~
