Just learning! I got a machine for Christmas.

I am learning to quilt... going to try some pajamas for Tyler and a nightcap for my FIL. Then we'll go from there.

I can sew just about anything. The one area I have a bit of trouble with is putting in collars but can do it even though it does take a very long time.

I taught myself to sew years ago and have continued doing it (along with quilting) now for years.

My projects this year are learning to making all our underwear and learning to make bride dresses for dolls!! Can you help???

Possibly CJ, I have never made doll clothing. Do you have a pattern I could look at on the web?

I love to sew! I've been sewing pillows and selling them on Ebay. So, I don't do that much personal sewing any more. But I do like to do quick and easy summer sewing at the beginning of the summer. With 3 teenage daughters, we make lots of light summer tops.

I sewed a little in high school but really started seriously sewing when dd was a baby. My grandmother gave me an old singer and helped me to get started. I have sewn clothes for dd, maternity clothes for myself. I made my girlfriends wedding dress and I have done several wedding parties gowns. I also made a friend's mother's gown for her wedding. I do some alterations for friends also.
The hardest thing I ever made was a corset type gown with boning. It was horrible and the boning, no matter what we did kept stabbing the poor girl. I finally took the boning out and replaced it with the stiffest interfacing I could find. It wasn't quite perfect but the girl could dance without bleeding!

I have made tons of Halloween costumes for my kids and friends kids.
Right now I am making my ds a polar fleece pullover then going to start on some of the polar fleece cut and tie baby blankets for our emergency pregnancy center.

I sew some, but not as much as I used to sew.

I sewed nearly all my kids clothes when they were litte. Now, I can buy name brand clothes at the Salvation Army for .25- sometimes with the tags still on them!

So I sew for special occasions, and mending mostly.

I'm just learning..... teaching myself..... we ran across a great deal on a sewing machine but I believe it's almost paid for itself when considering what we would have to pay someone for my dh's stuff....
I've learned so far on my dh's stuff that had to be done right away but I've recently done more and compared it to the professional work and it's just as good.....

I'm now about to start mending work..... Can you help with that? Such as, I have a few items that part of what was sewn come apart for lack of better wording... can I just stitch the part that needs it? I have other ?s but it's not on my mind right now.

Let's just say I am all thumbs when it comes to sewing. My mother didn't sew much that I can remember, she used to knit though, and she didn't teach me these things. I wish she had though, I feel like I am missing out on things that I could have mastered with her help!

I can sew just about anything except wedding dresses and evening wear. I am going to be a great quilter one of these days, right now I am pretty darn good with my rotary cutter. I only have about 15 minutes a day to spare on sewing, but I LOVE it. I used to make all of my kids play clothes when they were little, then almost all of the girls school clothes whrn they were in elementary school. I love to make dolls and stuffed animals too. One of the things I got out of the treasure box was a pattern for a doll called "Sewphie" I plan on having a sewing room when dd goes off to college. Yeah, she is a senior I am almost there!!!

I am learning. I chose have a machine but don't know how to use it....but that is not quite true anymore! I have done a blanket, a set of cushions for my rocking chair, one quilt block, and am going to tackle an outfit for dd next! I learn something new every time I sit down to sew. I love it! Although I do wish I had known I would start quilting when I bought my machine. I have no 1/4 in markings and have to improvise! So far so good.

I took sewing in jr high school, a million years ago. I used to sew simple outfits for our kids when they were small. The last year or so, I have been fixing up clothes I get at thrift shops or yard sales for our granddaughters. When Joann's had that great pattern sale, a couple of weeks ago, I picked up a bunch of doll clothes, craft and girl's summer outfit patterns. A lot of the patterns are the "Sewing For Dummies" ones. I am going to try tackling some sewing projects using those. Those patterns should be about my speed!!!
