Default Ds's stocking *Made a New One*

I finally got started on the baby's stocking yesterday and here's what I got. I don't know what brand of jeans the lady who took the pics of these uses, but out of a whole kitchen bag of jeans I could not find a pair that I could use the whole back pocket and not a part of the fly! So, I took the zipper out, put the fly back together ... ackkk, and this is what I came up with. I can't get the heel or toe to round out ... the foot looks too small ... HELP!

What could be wrong with that? It is absolutely darling and very boy-ish indeed, infact even a tom-girl like me would love a stocking like that. Maybe you are being too critical of yourself, I know that I am when I craft and sew. I love it Karen!

If you look at the directions here http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_occasion...383266,00.html
it looks like if you cut the pattern the way she has it, the toe would be pointing in the wrong direction. Am I missing something? I'm going to try again with a pair of button fly jeans.

I think that it is adorable! I bet that the designer of the original pattern used a larger size pair of jeans to get the entire thing on the front without the fly. I actually like yours better using the fly though, it looks so precious. Great job Karen!

I am wondering too if it was a larger pair of blue jeans. You did great Karen, cute!

Yeah Karen I think Kathy is right about the pair of jeans being bigger. Those rounded edges just take going really slow making the seams there and stopping and turning just a tad here and there. I love your little stocking, it's soooo cute out of that little pair of jeans!

Those are so cute. That's one way to get the most out of jeans you can't wear anymore.

I'm much happier with this one. I used a green corduroy jumper that was given to me for dd (too ugly) to make up for short denim at the toe.
