Default Clothing items I have made.....

First let me apologise for the quality of the pics. I take lousy pictures as it is, but it was dark in the house too!

This first pic is my first and last try at making blue jeans. They were very time consuming but came out great. They did fit me when I was 30 pounds lighter!

Here is an unlined denim jacket. Very easy pattern as you will see I have used it a few times.

This is a fleece pullover I made years ago when fleece first became popular. It is a little worse for wear, but still comfy.
    http://www.frugalvillage.com/photopo....php?photo=725

This jacket is the same pattern and made out of buffalo plaid. It is sort of like a heavy flannel. I also made the black turtleneck under it.

This is another jacket in the same pattern again only this is sweater fabric. Very easy to work with, but does ravel so you need to finish off all seams. I used my serger.

I also have made more t-shirts, shorts, turtlenecks, sweatshirts and leggings than I can even count. I love wash and wear clothes!

Wow you are one talented lady. Can I ask, where do you get all your material from when it comes to making your clothes?

You are truly talented dee! These look so professional and these are LOVELY items of clothing. How long does it take you to finish a peice and about how much cost goes into the making of something like a jacket or pair of jeans?

I really want to take a sewing class even more now

Thank you girls, yep sewing is my passion! Just haven't done much lately.

    Lori....

CJ, We used to have an outlet store (that went out of business a couple of years ago ) My sister worked there in the fabric dept. she would save me the good mill ends that came in and it was really cheap! I used to get t-shirt knit for $1 a yard (sometimes it was 120" wide! ), it only takes a yard to make a ladies medium t-shirt and a yard and a half for a turtleneck. I miss that store!

I also go to JoAnn's a lot!! You can find good deals in there too if you buy off season.

Heather, I can make one of those unlined jackets in about 4 hours start to finish, longer for the plaid one (to match up). I think it takes about 2½ to 3 yards of fabric, so depending on what you choose to make it out of, would affect the cost.

The blue jeans I was determined to make a pair of jeans that fit me. It was a lot of fiddling and adjusting of the pattern. I think it took me 3-4 days to make them, so say 18-24 hours.

If you can find a course in your area and you really want to do this, I say go for it! I love making clothing.

Oh and I forgot my collection of winter fleece hats! I wear them everyday. I found a pattern I liked and made a bunch! Got the fabric mostly on sale at JoAnn's, so for $1 each (I can get 2 hats out of a ½ yard of fleece, $2.10 total for the ½ yard) and 30 minutes of my time, I made a bunch of these!

WOW! Dee you kept that quiet!

You are very clever, they are lovely.

I enjoy changing the clothes I already have, like decorating denim jackets and things but I could NEVER make something from scratch. I'm so useless at sewing!

They are sooooo cool - they all look shop bought!

Oh BTW - love the hats too (Looks like you have a new eBay business there )
