    Default Apron tutorial question...

Can you see the difference between the 2 pictures?

if I am understanding it correctly, the first pic has the apron fabric folded in such a way that the selvages meet along the edge ( the pattern piece is so large that the whole piece of fabric will be needed for the width of the pattern to fit). In the second one the selvages do not meet up, because you want to leave remnant fabric after cutting that you can use for something else (the pattern is so small that the width will fit easily on a smaller piece of fabric). Is that right, Or did I misunderstand?

    You're right Melissa!

In the second picture (the apple fabric) at the top of the pic the fabric is faded looking, that is the wrong side of the fabric. This gives you an idea how much fabric is being wasted cutting out the apron as your pattern instructions will suggest.

In the second picture, I am still getting the entire piece on but I will be able to utilize the left over fabric much better this way.

    Does that help?
