Talking Who is doing the Apron Tutorial?

Besides Karen and Pat, who is making an apron?

    Anyone have any questions?

I am! Bought some material just the other day for this. I'll be washing my material today and starting tomorrow or Tuesday.
I won't be shy about asking questions.

    Dee,

I went through the tutorial last Tuesday. I thought it was very easy to follow. I gave the apron to my mom since her other one was completely threadbare - she loved it!

WTG Wendy, I'm glad it was understandable.

I'm not quite ready to do the tutorial yet, but plan to. I'll post a picture someday when I am ready. (emphasis on the word someday rofl)

I'm still looking over the manual on my machine and trying to keep my head from spinning. I know that probably sounds ridiculous to those of you that have sewn for years, but this is new to me and I haven't a clue what I am doing yet.

Keep in mind that I can't even hand sew a button properly. lol

Sara! Get your nose out of the book and your foot on the pedal! You can read all you want, but you need to get that machine plugged in and sew something! I think an apron would be a perfect place to start. All you need to know is how to thread it, make it go, and where the reverse button is. C'mon, you CAN do it! Try something simple, like this: http://ejmtph.crosswinds.net/sew/apron.html

I just got a new machine that does all kinds of things I didn't know sewing machines could do. I'm going for 1 new trick at a time!

I have the directions printed out, but haven't had the time to try. Hopefully soon.

Good Melody and Angelee. Bias is easy after you do it a few times. I hope to be doing a tutorial soon on making your own bias tape. Just as soon as I figure out what is wrong with my camera.
