I am embarassed to tell you all.....
but I called the French Seam Tutorial by the wrong name!
You know how you get something in your head and it won't go away? Well that is what happened here. I kept thinking that was a French Seam and one of our members very kindly corrected me, thank you
.
The tutorial I did was on Flat Felled Seams, I will correct the error.

In my crochet class, I kept saying "double chain" instead of double crochet. I know better and am not sure why I kept saying it. lol
I was doing the square tonight and I talk to myself as I read the pattern and was saying double chain too.
At any rate, being a newbie to the world of sewing...I didn't even notice.

You more than made up for that tiny error with those great straps! A 20" tube wouldn't be too bad to turn, but I just made a really long tube for someting that I thought I'd never reach the end of. (I can't remember what for now) Your straps are wonderful, and very attractive! Thank you!

I always always get them mixed up too Dee. In fact the whole time you were talking about it, I knew you were right. Just I don't think about the names much, just when I want a particular finish, I do what I want, what works.
I just did a variation on my fitted sheet that I was doing today (sewing, and dr.s visit, which is why I was quiet) where I seamed the corners, then serged, then stitched the serged edge down. (strength, and fast and easy)

I have done that too Margery to lots of things, makes a great sturdy, neat seam.
