Talking Arpon making is fun until.....

You make a HUGE mistake. I'm making Heather's (Calico) apron and its a new pattern. I was doing really well, got it all sewed, including 2 miles of ruffle and went to press my very pretty ruffle and realized I had put the whole 2 miles on backwards. Now this would have been fine probably except that 2 miles of ruffle had 6 different seams. I refuse to take it out because of all the work putting that ruffle together. It took me hours.

So I'm keeping that apron (I'll be dang if I'm taking that much ruffle out) and I've now started another apron for Heather, exactly the same with new material.

tip learnt today - always check before sewing 2 miles of ruffle on anything!!!

    CJ,
I can just see you now

Think of it this way, you have a new, very unique, apron.

Oh, no! I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know exactly how you feel. I'd probably try taking it apart though, and then tear the fabric in my frustration. I admire your ability to let it be.

Oh boy can I relate! I messed up the ties on my swap apron--- ended up going out and buying some binding to finish the edges and to use as ties.

I tossed the ties I messed up

Having made this mistake once, I won't make it again. I'm almost finished another apron and I made sure I used patterned material for the ruffle, rather than a solid color. I had used solid gold for the last one.

Its so easy to make such a simple mistake.
