Default Woo Hoo! Ribbing Accomplished! *pic*

I put another jammie top together yesterday and the ribbing is positively perfect! Well, not quite. I added some around the sleeves too, to take out the droopiness and the seams don't match up. One is a whole 1/4" off. Now, this 2 year old child has very small wrists. I could only sew a 1/2" at a time. The second sleeve came much closer, by about 50%. I've concluded I need to start sewing just before the seam to fasten it there first. I'm tickled though! It looks Great! I forgot I didn't have elastic for the pants. I intended on buying a roll, but ended up with a little package. I'm going to put ribbing on the pantlegs too, just for kicks!

WTG Karen, your doing great. Doesn't it feel good to be getting it right.

I love making jammies. They are so forgiving and even if you make a mistake, not many see it. Sure is good for practising.

    Keep it up!!

Exactly CJ! That's why I started with the jammies and $1/yard flannel. I made dd #9784 http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?...ws=9&HomeDec=0 almost 2 years ago, with the collar and sleeves and little pants and it really turned out nice! (but I never did get the hat to fit her head) I was so surprised when the bodice matched up! So, I think I'm ready to move on to dd's dresses! I'm going to do that 9 patch block first though.

    I'm having so much fun!

Oh Karen, you'll love making little dresses. I use to have so much fun making summer dresses for dd as well. I always made sure they didn't have a collar but she loved them. I also made little tops and shorts to match with little summer hats. Between the dresses and the short outfits, she never quite knew which one she wanted to wear for that particular day.

I learnt how to put in zippers by making dresses for her. She was has forgiving as making jammies were. She still is.

Oh I can hardly wait now to see what you sew. WTG!!

WTG Karen. I have that pattern too. i made Hannah the dress and pantaloons from it. in this pic it is the green and yellow one to the far right...

I loved making it and I plan on making her more for this spring and summer. These dresses were ones i did in 2002. (the two boys outfits... the blue and the green one were just play outfits i made...ended up looking like scrubs, lol) The kids love wearing the stuff i made them, made me feel good about it too.

Some of these had hats i made to match, but where i pinned them in the pic they didn't show up so well. And her pants look un even, but that's just me not getting them onto the hanger evenly, lol

Great job Melissa! It is a cute pattern, with lots of options, and it isn't too hard. Dd's outgrown it. It's sizes 1-18 months. I also have #6989 in the same size. I'd be happy to send them to anyone who can use them.
