Default A few minutes with the Sewing Machine

With warmer weather here, I am finding it hard to make sewing time. However, Liz had sent me a lovely piece of fabric with chickens on it and as soon as I saw it, I just knew it was meant to be a table runner. So this evening, I hemmed it and added green lace and now I have a brand new table runner. It was the perfect size for the dining room wash stand.

Do you have a hard time with indoor crafts once it warms up? I really do. I just want to be outside all the time.

It looks lovely! I totally agree on wanting to be outside as much as possible during the warm weather.

That is awesome Pat! It looks great.

I love being outdoors, so some of my motivation for these indoor crafts will be replaced with the desire to be outside with the kids, gardening, garage sales etc.

But, I love to just sit with my crochet work whenever we watch tv together, so I know I'll keep up with that. I'm also determined to make some headway with my sewing.

Here in MI, it's warming up but could still snow and then we get the rainy season. I still have some time to play indoors for a bit.

Good job Pat & Liz great pic of fabric for her.
I too find myself wanting to do outside, but those pesky black flies will be here soon & I'll be driven indoors. Last year we got lucky & they weren't too bad, hope we get that lucky again. Black flies are NO fun.

Great job Pat! Mom wasn't sure if you would like the fabric, and I told her to send it on.

I'm not an outdoorsy type, so I get most of my sewing done in the warmer weather. Cold weather is when I work on crocheting, knitting etc....

    Pat,

Glad you liked the fabric & put it to good use.

Chickens are just not my thing.

Deed can tell you a funny story about that one day!

    Have a good day.

    Great job Pat.

I too want to be outside, BUT the mosquitoes and black flies dictate as to whether I outside or not. Last year they weren't too bad so I'm hoping they aren't bad this year.

I do quilt all year though. I need to be quilting, even if its late into the night during the summer months.

Pat, you did an excellent job!

I find that I love to be outside in the warmer months to garden, hike, camp, etc. But I try to make myself sew at night for at least an hour each night before bed, during the warm months.

Crocheting is usually for the chilly/ cold months. It gets just too hot to work with yarn!

    Pat,
Beautiful runner you made there! I too want to be outside more when the weather turns warm. If you could see the bottom of my feet right now you would know how much I enjoy being barefoot in the garden!
