Default Wht have I gotten myself into

One of the teacher's at work asked me to sew a dress for her daughter for a Civil War reenactment. I agreed. At first she said she did not know when it was, but she thought it was at the end of May. I have most of it cut out, except for one piece that has to be pieced because the material was a couple inches short. Well she called Friday night while I was on my way out for the evening and said that Valerie needs it to wear on Friday. Now I am overwhelmed and know when it comes to the zipper part it will be a struggle.

Dee, I amy be posting for help, so far so good except that I shouldnt have sewn the arm holes in the lining because of the sleeves. I cant find my glasses so after church this morning I will go to the dollar store and get a sean ripper and a pair of reading glasses. I just hope I can do this. Well, I have no choice. It is like a Scarlett O'Hara dress with LOTS of black lace.

I have learned to just say NO. I needed the money so bad, I agreed, but I will surely earn it and no matter what she pays I cant help but wonder if it will be worth it. Someone tell me I am not CRAZY!

Oh gosh this is why I don't take in sewing for other people. People are always asking me to make them things like decorative pillows or new chair covers or curtains. I tell them I just don't feel up to it and I wouldn't want to say I would do it and then disappoint them when I can't do it.

I completely understand why you did it though and this sucks not having another month to finish it.

Just do the best you can and good luck on the zipper. Hope you can find your glasses too.

I'm sorry she didn't give you a date and now you feel overwhelmed, I would too so holler away when you need help.

BTW I think that sounds really neat to make.

Well, I have the bodice and sleeves done. I need to vent and say that the sleeves alone took me ALL DAY!

Man I am pooped out, this is THE hardest thing that I have ever sewed in my entire life. There were some parts that I had to hand sew and I am so afraid that woman will be picky.

She is very nice to me NOW, but she is the one who yelled at me on my first day at the new school, so lets just say sometimes she does not have much tact.

    Bu, doin my best anyway.

I think it was very nice of you to agree to do this.... and I might just let it slip how hard it was to do it, especially on such a deadline. Maybe you should charge her a little extra for the "rush order"?

That lady is a Pip! Hang on Robin and if the urge to wrap your hands around her throat comes upon you...well I won't tell.
