I need your help and input
Does anyone know of any web sites that I might go to to get info
on church nursery guidelines such maintaining a safe nursery any info would be great trying to compile and put together some good firm guide lines for the church nursery.....now for your input
Taking your baby/ toddler/ pre schooler to stay during church services to the nursery what would your expections for the nursery be/ the workers in the nursery.
What type of issues in the nursery would make you not want to take your child back.
What type of things would really make you happy to see happening in the nursery..........I think you all get the idea of what sota info I need.
Now please pray for the director/ and me just getting folks to volunteer we need a total of 12 workers for each Sunday which will be a challenge but nothing is so big our Lord can't handle right.....this is all new to us so we hope the nursery to be a safe place for parents to feel comfortable leaving their children , our desire is for the nursery to be all the Lord would have it be .
Thanks so much for reading the post and I appreciate all the help and input you are able to give..............niceday/Linda

I remember a book at the christian book store, and it had a name with shield in it.
Anyways it was about how to screen for nursery workers etc to keep the kids safe. Written by a pastor who was concerned by how things have changed and he shared how their church did this screening and yes, some child molester types were volunteering to help out with Sunday school etc. The screening process protected the kids.
Safety procedures were another thing that book covered. It would be the first thing I'd be thinking about.
Signing the babies in, and the mums taking turns is what our church does but it's small enough.
The other thing I'd be thinking about is preventing germ transmission. Maybe it's just my allergic kids, they caught everything and the church nursery meant a weeks worth of whatever germ passed thru.
I know our old church had a whole disinfection protocol to wipe down the diaper area between kids being changed (and hand washing) but they also did a lysol spray on the equipment after the kids left to leave it clean for the next use.
HTH it's been so long since mine were that age, I'm way out of touch.
Bless you for taking that area under your wing!

I think just your plain commen sense would go along ways - Remember toddlers and preschoolers can be bumped up to an educational approach Sunday school setting - and with volunteers the more the better! If everyone is interested the kids ALWAYS fair better!! IMHO
