Talking MIL was thrilled with the potholders!

I sent MIL the gold and red potholder and dishtowel set. I mailed it priority on Wednesday and she got it in the mail Friday. I also sent her the freebie Thomas Kinkade postcard pack that I got this year.

    She loves me!

She said "This is the most wonderfull thing anyone in dh's family (she really despises all of dh's family) has ever done for me." She said red is her favorite color and for me to consider myself kissed on the nose, lol. She said she will show it off to all of her friends and tell them that her DIL made it just for her.

This is a big deal because I have NEVER called her my mother-in-law and she has NEVER called me her daughter-in-law. She has always been my dh's fathers wife and I have always been her husband's son's wife. Dh and I have been married 29 1/2 years now.

I'm just so glad she liked it and I feel so much better about our relationship.

She left Sunday to spend Christmas in Veitnam and Cambodia and will be somewhere drinking My-Ty's (sp) and eating coconuts on the beach for Christmas, all by herself.

It feels like a Christmas miracle and all because of a few pieces of material sewn together.

Great news!! I am so happy for you that she not only liked it, but that it has made such a difference in your relationship with her!

My MIL (dh's birth mom) is very hard for me to know. I THINK she likes me, but you never know with her. Even her family (other kids) try to stay away so they don't have to walk on eggshells. The oldest son says its cause she's Asian, but I think she just has some wires crossed. That's a whole nother subject though!
