Anyone Going to Sew/Quilt For Tsunami Victims
This organization is collecting items for Humanitarian Aid for the Tsunami victims.
http://www.lds.org/ldsfoundation/wel...25-1-9,00.html
Those of you who sew, there are patterns to make toys, clothes, diapers, blankets, bags, ect for the victims. I figure you can probably sew an awful lot of things that will fit into a flat rate priority box to be shipped for only 7.70 or so. It's all fairly easy, and all items will be used in the relief efforts. Pass thing along to any of your friends who sew. :-)
There are also kits you can make and send them with school supplies, medical supplies, infant care, and hygiene type stuff if you don't wish to sew anything.
Please forward this to anyone who you think would be able to help! I'm sure there are loads of other charity organizations that would take sewn items as well, but this is the only one I currently have information on.

Thank you for the link Michelle. I think I am going to have the boys help me gather some H&B supplies and blankets.

I will be but not through this organization. I'll be doing it through Mennonite Central Committee. They have their main depot for quilts, clothing and school supplies not far from us.

I think I will put together a few kits for them. I will pass this link on to my sister, it may be something the Brownie troop can do for a service project.

Thanks Michelle. Msn had this list of places that are helping as well:

I will probably donate through my particular denominations aid organization myself. But its good to know who to send $ or other things to when you want to help out.

Christine I'm in Canada too and the only organization I know where you can donate items is MCC. They have a website that you might want to check.
Most of the other places are asking for money. CBC has a list for Canadians.

Edited to add: Here is MCC's kit site: http://www.mcc.org/respond/kits/index.html
