Rice Heating Pad/Pillow S & S
Here is my other project for the day. I made this because my back has been bothering me due to my exercising and shoveling snow today.
These are really easy to make, and you can even give them as gifts with this poem:
This little pillow filled with rice
Is such a comforting device,
Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes on High
And kiss those aches and pains good-bye.
Apply it to a troubled spot
The heat will ease the pain a lot.
Or warm those little toes, so cold.
You'll find this nice to have and to hold.
Or freeze it for awhile
And fix that boo-boo in style.
Instead of a compress made of ice,
Use this pillow filled with rice.
*eta: the red pillow is the one filled with rice, and the black shopping bag print is a flannel case for the rice pack. The flannel case can be washed, but not the bag with rice.

Love that Michelle. I went up north a month or so ago and bought some lavendar at an ostrich farm ( I never understand why the ostrich farm has such good lavendar)
I wanted to make some and maybe put the lavendar in it as well, I wonder if it would smell??
Good going, I love it.

I've also heard of people using these to keep their feet warm at night
I imagine it would smell, but if you're talking about using the lavender itself, I would be afraid of it burning when heating the rice pack in the microwave. I have heard of people using EO's (Essential Oil's) in the rice though, so maybe you could use lavender scented EO in yours

Michelle these are great! I made eye pillows and neck wraps, both with covers for Christmas gifts this year! I used flax seed for mine. Aren't they wonderful? I loved my eye pillow when I was sick in the beginning of December and when I had a cough, the warm pillow was really nice on my chest.

Very nice Chelle! I love the way you created a sleeve that is washable that covers the rice bag. I haven't seen one like that before.

Looks really nice Michelle! I love the removeable sleeve idea. That is pretty clever.
