Default Wouldn't this work? MYO poncho

Gosh, I hope I can explain this. I was looking at ponchos yesterday and thought this would be a cute and warm way to make a reversable poncho from fleece.

I'm thinking the 60" width of the fleece would match close enough for most people measuring across from wrist to wrist, or the width of the poncho. Then you 'd have to figure out how long you wanted it. Let the lady at the fabric counter cut this for you in 2 coordinating colors. Then let her cut you another 1/2 yard or so of the same fabrics.

Now couldn't you do the main part of the poncho like one of those "twice as warm" blankets that you tie together?

Wouldn't it be really cute with a hood?

I don't see a problem with making the hood, or figuring out how to sew it on. I certainly couldn't explain it though!

What I'm having trouble visualizing is how to do the neckline. A circle wouldn't work, so a "D" or a "V" shape? A "V" would probably work better, especially with a hood, huh?

Hmmm, you could do with less fabric if you used a square with the points at you wrists. For some reason that wasn't big enough in my mind last night. I think anyone over 5' tall the other wouldn't be wide enough after you cut the fringes.
