    Question Anyone sew winter parkas

A couple nights ago I was watching the late CBC news. Its really unusual for me to do that, however they had a full program on the Inuit people.

It showed a segment of how artistic the Inuit people were and mentioned that ALL winter apparell was sewn by the woman there.

It got me thinking about trying to do the same here. Although it would probably be a bit costly to purchase the material, I would really like to try and at least make one parka and see how it turned out. Next time I'm in Brandon, I'm going to hit the fabric store and look for a pattern and see how much material is needed.

Has anyone made one here and if you have, are they really difficult?

My dad does, and he says they are really easy.

The Linda Lundstrom style is by McAfee workshops and I think they still sell patterns and the specialty zippers and windproof fabrics and the thick wool blanket fabric in lovely colours.

I'll find a link for you CJ
