Anyone sewing for the Holidays?
I love to hear about what people sew for the holidays. Anyone making Holloween costumes or a quilt for someone for Christmas?
I am continuing to make my DH's rag quilt for Christmas. I will also make a few fabric gift bags for homeade food items. I haven't made a Holloween costume in years, but was thinking of having a Holloween party this year, so I may make a costume. Just don't know of what yet.
So how 'bout it?

Yup will be doing lots of sewing this year.

~quilt for dd - I'll be stretching myself here. She loves purple I don't. However I'm going to make her a sampler quilt done in purples. I have enough fat quarters to make it, mostly given to me so I shouldn't have to purchase any material for it.
~wall hangings which I'm going to try selling at our Christmas craft sales

I'd really like to sew (or knit or crochet) for the holidays...I'll have to think of some ideas. How come it's so much easier to make something for the women in our lives, than it is the men?
Just this month my kids were invited to THREE birthday parties! I crocheted ponchos for the two girls' birthdays, but bought a present for the boy (at Michael's with a 40% off coupon
).
My gift list is pretty limited: Dh, my 2 Dd's, mom & mil.
I hope others will post their ideas! I might get some inspiration.

Valerie, I made my Dad a quilt last Christmas that he loved. (Although I agree that in general it is MUCH harder to make things for males than females.) I used up old denim to make a denim quilt, and I stitched the outline of all his grandkids into it. I loved the weight of it, so I have been collecting up used denim to make one for our house.

I am doing some things for the holidays as well. I will be sewing the kids' Halloween costumes for the first time this year. I am also making most of the gifts we're giving for Christmas: flannel lounge pants, fleece socks, quilt wallhangings, and fabric bowls.
I really need to get started!

I'm making two wall hangings (one for my Mom and one for my MIL) and a quilt for my brother for Xmas. Haven't decided on what to do or make for anyone else yet.

A bowl made out of fabricOriginally posted by Valerie in WA
What are these?
The fabric is "stiffened" using thick interfacing, and it takes on the shape of a bowl
