    Smile Organizing buttons for sewing/quilting

I have a number of these little jars and they are almost useless for making jam/jelly. They are just too small and you can't put them in the canner. I wanted to use them though because they are just so "cute" if you can call jars "cute".

You could use other jars for this project though. Smaller jars you might have around your home. You can decorate them, cut out a circle from material and place over the top or put a ribbon on the top. Whatever your heart desires.

The reason I decided to do this was because everytime I want a specific colored button I have to go through all my buttons. This way if I want a white button, I just have to go through the white buttons, not every other color I have.

The first picture is the inside of the jars. (I'll post two.) I have more jars, I just haven't gotten to them all yet. The jar at the bottom left is filled with little gadgets I use for quilting.

All lined up with pretty tops. I have a f ew that I don't have fancy tops for. I'll just cover them in pretty material and tie with a ribbon.

CJ, I did the same thing with my buttons a few years ago, but I used baby food jars and didn't pretty them up. They are in a drawer in my sewing room.
