Default How do you sew a duvet?

I see on another post references to sewing a duvet. What is it and how do you make one?

ok a duvet is a big fat quilt like thing, filled with feathers or down or both.

    or synthetic fill.

It's super warm and very light.

The duvet is always covered by a case, sort of like a pillow in a pillowcase.

You take the duvet cover off to wash it, and never use it naked like you do with a quilt.

You can use a duvet cover to transform an old sleeping bag into a duvet if you like.

To sew a cover, you take sheets of the size to cover the duvet (for a twin size, think double size sheet, for a queen size or a double use a queen size sheet)

and sew the 2 flat sheets around 3 sides leaving one side open. (sew a bit on both ends of the open side)

Put velcro for a closure or buttons or snaps or as I've been lazy and prone to, use safety pins to close it.
