Pet lovers sewing How-to
Thought I'd share what I worked on last night. I made two dog quilts.
First lets start with the supplies you will need.
Old towel
crochet thread in a coordinating color
fabric top sized the same as the towel (I pieced together one with 4 inch squares, and another using just two hankerchiefs)
sundry threads, needles. scissors etc etc.
here's the fabric i chose for the first one~~ Missy ~~

the yellow one was simply serged around the edges, Right sides out. Pin evenly and remove pins as you go.
the red/whit and blue one was a little more time consuming, not much.
the first step is to pin the pieces together, right sides together. Sew around the edges, leaving about a 12" unstitched area in which to turn.~~ Missy ~~

clip corners, turn. Sew turning hole shut. Sew around the perimeter to keep the edges from shifting.
Not all that hard huh??
We're off to the finishing now. You have a few choices here. Leave it as is. Tie it. Quilt it...see? there's lots more you could do, add an applique or two...whatever you want.
I chose to tie it. Thats what I needed the crochet thread for.
On the yellow one I tied in all the large red paw prints using red thread on the Red/white/blue one i tied using blue crochet thread in all the white squares.

and here's the finished projects, i flopped over the ends to show the backing is the towel.
The purpose of these is to cover car seats, chairs etc to collect cat/dog hair or to protect against birdie surprises whilst bird is out...
The towel would also come in handy if you were out walking dog and he/she got wet. Their very own towel...~~ Missy ~~
