Default What are your favorite "easy" things to make?

I was just thinking- I have been sewing since I was 12 (18 years?!?! ) and my favorite things to make as gifts are simple.

*Microwavable rice bags- a big hit!
*Curtains- made disney princess curtains for DD for Christmas-$3

    Anyone else have easy ideas?

duvet covers (sheets sewn together with an opening)

pillow slips (I get 6 out of one double flat sheet)

oven mitts out of dh's old work jeans, the good bits. I trace around the liner and sew a new denim cover for a fresh new oven mitt.

table napkins, 18 inch squares finished.

    curtains

fitted sheets out of flat top sheets (pin fit the corners and cut --it will be a simple square, sew then sew elastic around the corners using that clear jelly elastic)

mending is usually pretty easy too along with fitting a store bought outfit a bit better. I take darts in sometimes to get a nicer fit.

Those cloth sanitary pads were pretty easy too.

T shirts are the easiest clothing items to make in my estimate. Stretch to fit the collar, and the sleeve caps, flat construction.

a plain skirt comes next. or an apron.

I've also made polar fleece scarves, mitts and hats and those are really fast too.

Oh and little baby blankets from polar fleece are the worlds simplest thing.

Maternity jumpers and those tops that you just slip over the head. Those go fast.

Baby bibs from nice fingertip velvet texture handtowels. They are super easy to make from some handtowels cut in half, and a keyhole neck design with a hammer in snap for closure and some soft ribbing for the collar binding.

I used to do those by the bundle when my kids were babies and for a few years when all my friends had babies.

I made showercaps for my shmop head (it had a stretchy terry shower cap cover that you could pull off and toss in the wash.) out of old towels.

If we are talking easy I would have to say curtains, apons, rice bags, pillow cases, and a few more things.
