Question Is understanding a sewing pattern difficult for you

Yes, I don't understand sewing patterns well. I usually have to cut out the material and figure it out on my own.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I can do it without the pattern altogether, but some parts are just beyond me. I can't for the life of me get a smooth v-neck on my scrubs, for instance, and can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

It depends on the pattern. Kwik Sew patterns are pretty straight forward. The other companies not so much. If I can't figure it out from the directions, I need someone to show me how to do it. I'm not good at figuring out how things should go together. Maybe that will come when I am more experienced, but generally that's how I am with everything.

Sometimes, if the patterns are missing steps (has happened) or not explained well. Otherwise I can usually figure it out.

Usually it is very easy for me once in a while there will be some step that I just can't wrap my brain around but not often.

Kimberly I have the same trouble with the V neck on my scrubs. I usually end up just cutting and and folding it to get it smooth and then sewing it.

To me it's like a foriegn language. Nap, selvage...even with pictures I'm not sure of myself.

Yes, but I suppose as I learn more about sewing, I will get the hang of it. Everyone here is so helpful.
