Question How many pairs of scissors in your sewing area

I have three and no one can use them but me. I have expensive ones for cutting material, cheaper ones for cutting paper, etc and a small pair to applique.

Hmmm....one good pair that I use for fabric, another old pair that I don't use much. Several pairs of craft scissors, and for some reason, a whole collection of old pinking shears! They're really cool, so I'm trying to figure out how to display them.

In my sewing room there is an excellent- expensive pair for cutting, rotary cutters w/sharpener, embroidery scissors, a couple of pair of cheapos for my daughters, paper shears, paper cutting snippers and one very special pair that I have hanging- untouched. The pair my grandmother gave to me when she died. She taught me to sew- and I'm the only grandchild who took off with it. She didn't have much to give away- so I was honored to get this.

    8 pairs

I have 2 pairs, 1 expensive pair for cutting material and another for cutting paper and snipping thread.

Cheryl, It is great that you have the scissors to remind you of your grandma. I have my grandmas sewing machine (I'm learning to sew). Everytime I see it I think of her. I love the hum of the sewing machine. It help me relax. It was always comforting to be with grandma.

I have 1 regular pair and one pair of pinking shears. I have to hide them or small people use them on paper.

I have between 7 and 9 somewhere. I have been known to be a "gadget" freek.
Though I do agree that an expensive pair for cutting material is a must for anyone who sews.

I have a superb pair for cutting cloth that I don't allow anyone to touch. LABELLED ON THE BLADES DON'T TOUCH THESE!!!!! Blue handles so people know.

A second best good pair for cutting hair or cloth. I hate it when the family uses these orange handled ones, which is why they are my second best pair.

And a third pair near the front so that if dh or kids grab something they catch these. They used to be good, but dh kept using them to trim our old Samoyed's paw hair in between his pads and that really thrashed them.

I also have pinking shears and some hair cutters thinning shears.

oh and I keep some cheap pairs in the living room desk drawer near the phone, and in the kitchen drawer for cutting meat. It's not the kind for meat, but works much better than proper kitchen shears and is lighter as well.

I got them on 1.49 day years ago about 25 years ago, and they go thru the dishwasher just fine.
