Dee, question for you

I'm finished the front, quilted the bag and I'm going to sew it together. I have a step I'm not sure what to do though.

The instructions say this:

Before turning tote right side out - place it on a flat surface with the inside front facing up. Measure 3" from each side of the bottom binding. Fold tote bottom upwards a tpin mark, keeping binding edges together. Hand stitch sides of binding together to tack in place. Flip right sides out, push inside bottom corner out with your hands to form corner bottoms.

What the heck does that all mean.

What you are doing is measuring in 3" from each side on the bottom. Then make a 45 degree angle over the to each side. Hand stitch your binding so it won't move when you machine stitch on that line.

In essence you are making a 45 degree angle from side to bottom and stitching on that line. Once you turn it right side out, it will give it a flat bottom.

What I do is match up the bottom seam with the side seam, measure up from the point (with '0' on the point) 3", mark it with a fabric marker and stitch across that line.

I think I understand Dee. I'll let you know later today if I do. In my instructions i t does not say to cut it off though.
