    Post Dogbone Neck Pillow!

    http://sewing.about.com/library/weekly/aa030398.htm

Here's a pillow designed for neck support.

    Materials Needed

Any fabric, I prefer valour or Polar Fleece
    Thread
    Stuffing
    Two print outs of Pattern
    Directions

Tape pattern pieces together. Make a dot even with the other dot on one side of the pattern.

    Cut two out fabric.

Pin fabric together, wrong sides together, and use a 1/2" seam to join them. Leave open between the dots on one side edge.

Make clips in to seam allowance at curves and "V's".

Turn right side out. Stuff. Slip stitch open area.

    Tips

Depending on the person you are making it for, you can lengthen or shorten the pillow by varying the overlap of the pattern pieces where you tape it together.

The amount of support, the pillow will give, will vary by the degree of stuffing you put in it.

Use the pattern and cut three pieces. Sew numbers 1 & 2 from the 'V' at one end along the edge to the 'V' at the other end - assuming a 1/4" seam - start & stop 1/4" from end. Take piece number 3 and sew to number 2 from 'V' to 'V' the same way. Next sew number 3 to number 1 in the same manner EXCEPT leave an opening in the center of the straight part to turn and stuff the pillow.
By not sewing all the way to the 'V' when you're done you will have a 'Y' seam. I find it easier if I mark that point and start & stop sewing one stitch from it. I put a straight pin through the mark on each piece and leave it there until I've finished the seam. Putting the pin at the mark each time I don't have to worry about correct placement/matching.

I do not sew! Between my visits to her & driving DH to/from work there's not much time & I am tired.

I wanted to know if anyone would be willing to make a few of these pillows for Ma? I can pay for them, I don't expect anyone to make these for free!

She really needs this pillow she calls it her "football" it fits her neck perfectly & helps her back from hurting too much!
I bought her one @ CVS many years ago & it is getting worn out between all the taveling in the car & from the Nursing Home back to the hospital where she is again! Also I have to wash it to keep it "germy free"

I also wanted a separate cover made so this way I can change the pillow case cover & throw it in the wash instead of the whole pillow, which takes awhile to dry.

It has to be a soft type of material like polar fleece.

Here's my other post's link where I update on her health progress! Currently she is back in the hospital!

    Ma Needs Your Prayers Too!

    TIA!
