Anyone sew skating dresses?
I just finished the cutest practice dress for my daughter......It is made out of fleece with a flashy skirt. I've seen them on the rack for over $100 dollars and hers cost around $20 to make. The only problem was it was so tiny on her she couldn't even get it on!!!!!!!!! Fleece dosn't have the give that bathing suit and stretch velvet fabric has. I was on ebay and found a fleece dress and it was made out of something called Polartec.......anyone have any ideas where you can purchase polartec or something similar? I sold the dress I made and am going to try it again in a way bigger size and see how that goes.

My mom used to sew me skating dresses. The material was stretchy like lycra.
I have never heard of Polartec. You can save big on sewing those dresses!

Polartec is made by Malden Mills. If you go to their web-site, take a look at the Power Stretch, which is also a fleece with four way stretch! (As is some of their the Polatec Aqua Shell)
