I think the colors are very pretty together. I was wondering if you could achieve a chenile look. I did something like this once with flannel and it came out all soft and looked like chenile. I was actually going to attempt a quilt...LOL never got past the first few blocks. I agree the thread would nest in your washer. Hope it works out for you, it's very pretty.
