Smile Does anyone prefer to sew by hand?

For some reason I like to, maybe because I don't have to haul out the machine and everything. I'm quite content to sew while watching tv, or hanging out, by hand. Anyone else?

My machine is permanently out and I need it to sew seams, etc. But somethings are easier to do by hand - bulky items, tiny items and binding. I usually put something together on the machine and finish by hand while watching tv.

I'm not very good with the machine or my hands - so it usually looks equally bad no matter what method I use.

I don't mind hand sewing at all, just these old eyes aren't too keen on it anymore. LOL

Nope--can't stand hand sewing. Of course, I might like it better if I were taught how to do it (vs. trying to teach myself LOL)

I have a friend who sews exclusively by hand. She works for Colonial Williamsburg and makes the most exquisite dresses. We worked on a costume project together and I did the bulk of the machine sewing.

I do sew while watching TV and always take a hand sewing project with me when I'm going to be gone from home for a while.

I'm a fan of both, for sure!
