Sewing Saturday
~Is anyone sewing today? DH had to work so I couldn't go yard-saling like I'd planned so I decided to sew. I pulled out a Tinkerbell t-shirt out of the bag of Freecycle stuff I got this week and I'm reconstructing it. What's everybody else working on?~

Hancock's had a full box of the fill a bag for $3 stuff a few weeks ago. Believe me I know how to stuff a bag. When I get home I always go through it and take out things I think I might want to use for clothing/accessories first then the rest goes for quilting.
This time there were several pieces for scarves/shawls. I put some gold fringe I had on hand on a shawl and am still working on beading it. Still have a piece out to make a blouse when I get around to it.
I'm also working on a jacket. A friend of mind gave me an unfinished quilt top -- made me promise I wouldn't finish it and give it back to her. It was a Grandmother's Flower Garden -- not something I was inclined to finish, so I'm making a jacket out of it. Didn't have enough already pieced for the sleeves so I cut them out of muslin and appliqued some of the extra blocks down the center. I'm just about to finish quilting hexagons on the rest of the sleeves. Should be ready to put the thing together soon. I'm binding the edges instead of using facings so it should go together fairly quick.
I need to get a couple of shirts made for DH, but I also have a very large art quilt in progress that I need to keep going on.
I don't sew like this all the time. It goes in spurts. I'll work like the dickens for a few weeks, then nothing for months.
