Default Help me decide on a new machine please

Haven't ever really learned to sew, but would like to, so I need a machine. My old one died an ugly death.

    Here it is -
    1. Kenmore = $249
    2. Brother cs6000 = $183
    3. Huskavarna emerald = $299

I NEED classes! Classes are free with the Husky, not so with the other two. Also, I usually like Kenmore appliances. I am just looking for something that I can learn on, and it be pretty forgiving.

    Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Well I can sew but don't consider myself a seamstress or an expert on machines....I don't know anything about a Husky but if the classes are free with it, no more than it costs over the Kenmore I'd say it might be worth it to pay the extra and go with that one. Sewing is something that is not hard to learn but doing it well takes patience. If you look at the investment as just that and plan to keep and maintain the machine forever you won't feel as if you're spending more on the price difference. I'd go for quality for sure.

    Default Thank you!

I found a lower price Husky for $159, without the bells and whistles. BUT if I want to trade up within the year, I will get full purchase price of this one towards a new Husky. And, I still get the free classes! Tried the machine out tonight and I love it! Very easy for me to figure out.

I have the Brother cs6000 and LOVE it, but I am an experienced sewer.

I'm with Lisa on this one, classes are worth their weight in gold!

    Enjoy your new machine!
