Feast or famine...
at least that's what my sewing binges are like. Today I am doing MORE aprons. the third of my reversible aprons. Then the kids each want aprons too. I will just make them half aprons.
Erick wants
Black and white check with black pockets
Hannah wants
Multi with pink pockets
Aiden is getting
Frogs with green pockets.
they each already have aprons, but they saw me working on some for me and they went through the stash. Aiden, not so much...but the other two chose for him.

Missy I know the feeling. I've been in the baby quilt binge for a couple of weeks. It all started innocently--my church had asked for some--so I bribed a friend to help me make six. I learned a new, much quicker way to make them---and then I became addicted to it---and then I started making them for the grandbabies (who if they live to 200 yrs old have enough of my quilts aready) and then I started just matching up the fabric and and and and
I'm looking for a 12 step program-- "my name is Robin--and I'm a sew-aholic. . . . "Robin

I would like to make a baby quilt for my nephew that's on his way! You mentioned a quicker easier way? I'd love to hear about it! Thanks in advance.

I'd like to hear the quicker way to make the baby quilts too. I was given a bunch of scrap fabric from a local quilting group and I sewed some of it up, but have oodles more to sew. We donate the quilts when they're finished as well.

Envelope method for making baby quilts
I'm not great with writing instructions so I googled these. If you're a sewer you'll soon be adding your own touches to the method. I make the top, backing and batting all the same size and only leave a 10" opening to turn it right side out. I also top stitch around the edge of the turned quilt before I tie it. It just seems to make it lay better.
This is much quicker than binding the edges or my old way, making the bottom larger and folding it up and over the top and stitching in place.
