Sewers help me please..........
I was given a very old but in good shape brother sewing machine. I am trying to wip up something dd needs tomarrow and Im useing the machine for the first time today. I cant for the life of me figure out what is wrong but the bobbin thread keeps tangeling up on me and turning into a narly mess. I have searched the net for a manual and I can't find one , Well I can order one for 20.00 bucks but I need help NOW!The brother web sight doesnt have a downloadable one available for this model. ITs probable from the last 70 or early 80's. Any advice would be helpful...

It may have to do with the bobbin tension. My mom's machine (a kenmore) used to do that all the time. She replaced the bobbin casing and the problem was solved. Also you may want to make sure that it is clean and well oiled.

Its cleaned and oiled. Im sure its the tension at this point. And I cant get it so I m going to replace the bobbin casing and give that I try. If it doesnt work then I am going to buy a new machine. THis one is so old its not worth the effort.

If the thread on the bottom of the fabric is loopy, tangly, it usually means there is a problem with the top thread. Make sure it is threaded correctly which is hard to do without a manual. Call a repair shop and ask if they will look at machine and tell you correct way to thread with out charging. Most will.
