Sewing motivation
Help I need motivation! I have tons of fabric and I never want to do anything with it. I bought it to make bellydance costumes but I just cant get around to it. I have a place to sell these if I get busy. If I cant make anything I might just sell some of the fabric.
Any suggestions to get me going?

I use the bribe system. If I get 10 items cut out I can have a cookie or play on the computer for a while or read. Anything you like to do. I may have to use this bribe system to clean my house today. I hate moping my tile kitchen floor. It will take more than a cookie to get me moving.

I like to whip up something quick when I get in a rut. It makes me feel good when I see the finished poduct. Then it inspires me to make more things. HTH.

Same as lilk here. When I get in a rut I start something that can be done in a few hours or at least just 1 day. That gets me antcy and I'm off and running. I was in a slump for the past month or so when it came to my sewing so I put together a quick lap quilt and low and behold it made me want to get up and finish the 5 quilts that I have to complete for christmas presents.

did I say that? yep...have 5 to finish. gonna tie these instead of hand quilting. Just dont have the time now for that. My dream maybe one day will come true and I will be able to afford a quilting machine but 18k is not in the cards unless someone I know hits the lottery.

I use a combo of the things suggested. I bribe myself with t.v. or the latest magazine. I also with whip something up real quick so I can look at it and get motivated.

I'm a defeatist. Not enough motivation in the world to make me sew any more for a LONG time. I gave almost all my fabric stash to a charity, and what's left is going to a relative of a friend who quilts. I'm FREEEEEE!!
