Smile I need help on material....

What type of material should I use for an apron?
I like the "homespun" material like Wal-Mart has...but isn't that to thin?

    Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what the "homespun" material is because I haven't been to a WalMart in probably two years but I know that cotton is the best.

You can pretty much use anything though. You want something that will not fade easily and washes well since it will be washed so often and will likely be stained.

I'm sure others who wear them more than me will have some good ideas.

Gosh I haven't made an apron since I was in 7th grade Home Economics Class. I do wear that same apron occasionally. LOL

I would suggest cotton also. It makes great aprons (well it does wonders for many things) and any left over, you can sew up a couple of pot holders to match your apron. You can use anything as stuffing, an old towel, quilt batting, even a piece of jean material doubled over. Works great.

I was thinking of getting some old sheets and doubling them so the apron would be lined. Would that work?

that was what i was going to suggest too, or line your material with cotton, so that it has an extra layer. you can get cotton in any color so that no matter the color your doing it will be sturdy but no one will see the inside color seep thru. and it should stand up better too is my though.
