I need an easy free cloth diaper pattern. We've been using regular birdseye cloth diapers but I would like to make some cute ones that absorb a little better but have a very limited budget to work with....any ideas???

Not a pattern but here's how I make mine. I like to use flannel, have used garage sale receiving blankets. This is for a regular old flat diaper.

measure the dimensions of a diaper you use and add seam allowance around all edges.

Make some layers of flannel(more blankets) or terry cloth(wash clothes or cheap microfiber cloths from $$Gen) for the middle for absorbancy, maybe 4 or 5 " wide, depends on the baby's size. I had to experiment and also made lighter for day, thicker for night

Put inserts in middle of two layers of diaper. I sew up, down the middle and back up. Sew three sides of diaper together, turn right side out and finish edge. I often go around all four edges with zigzag just to make them last longer.

I hope that's reasonably clear. They are really very, very easy. I am SO not a seamstress.

~I just did a google search for free cloth diaper pattern and this was the first site of thousands on the list http://diapersewing.wordpress.com/ Tons of resources, all free. I made some cloth diapers myself. It's easy is you care more about function than beauty!~
