Thumbs up Took some time tonight away from the computer to do some sewing

I took a couple of hours tonight away from the computer to do some sewing. I love creating things and so this afternoon, while decluttering found some material I had forgot I had. So I cut out a pattern and did some sewing tonight. I'm not finished yet, but it sure felt good to get some done.

I'll finish tomorrow and then get it off in the mail to a friend.

Have you been sewing lately? What are you sewing?

Okay don't laugh. But I did sew yesterday. This spring I had bought 2 pair of men/women flannel pants at a yardsale. They were looney tunes from warner brother store. I only paid ..50 a piece. My ds who wears a size 10 boys LOVES the pair I wear. Ofcourse he would swim in a size medium adult.
I figured what could it hurt to bring them down about 10 sizes. So I sewed about 5 inches on the crotch, sewed up each leg and cut off several inches.
HE LOVES IT! Now I wouldn't enter them in the fair, didn't have the energy to get the pins from my quilting basket on the other floor. So I eyeballed it all. I am inpressed and happy he has a new pair of pj bottoms that match mine, lol for .50

Good for both of you, I am not much of a seamstress, I have been working on caftans and with a little advise I got from HSMama I will do some more tomorrow. (I washed the fabric before sewing CJ) (Thanks)These are so easy, and my dd needed some nighties or jammies anyway. just a little soft fabric and some double sided bias tape (I think thats what its called) and I did it.... I think I will make some for me too..... I have a big piece (About 3 yrds) of pink terry cloth, I don't even remember where I got it ..... I'll use that for her bathrobe caftan and do some embroyery on it......

Way to go ladies. Being creative can be fun and relaxing.

Kindred - awesome work and for only 50¢.

Lori - neat finding material you don't remember having. The sewing project I'm doing is also from material I had left over and found yesterday while decluttering. I love these types of surprises.

My project will cost $0 because it was left over material from another couple of projects I had made. I never throw large pieces of material out because you never know in what way you can use them up.

    *jealous*

I have an antique sewing machine that my grandmother left me. It is stored at my grandparents house in PA right now though. I wish I had it here!

It is old but it sews very good. I am not a very good sewer, but it sews very good. lol

If I had it I would sew some simple things... ease into it! Maybe I could do some PJs or something for Tyler.
My mom used to sew alot of my clothes and make me toys and things. I loved it and still have memories of it. One time for Christmas she made me and my 3 cousins all these huge dolls bigger than us. I still to this day don't know where she hid those things till Christmas!! LOL
