Itching to sew!
I've been dying to sew. I have a pile of clothes from the kids closet that needs mending.
mending in my house usually means reconstructing them.
We have 1 pair of jeans here that will soon be....4 years old? DD10 got them in second grade used from her cousin. They were skinny flairs as dn is very slim. My dd wasn't as slim, though by no means by any standard a haeavy girl. But they were a close fit. She couldn't wait to wear them, and as a result wore out the hems after about a year. So I chopped them to length to rehem them, and slit open the side and inserted a godet to make them flared with camo fabric. She loved these.

Then she blew out the knee a year later. These were to go int he garbage. But she fussed, so while she was at school, I chopped the bottom off, and made new bottoms in contrasting fabrics. These were also a hit. Now she's outgrown the waist and hip, 1 year after that. So now dd8 has them. She's almost out grown the length after a year. But the upper is still good. I'm thinking of making them into a skirt now..lol.
So we've had this 1 pair of jeans since dd10 was about 7, she's turning 11 in 4 weeks. Dn had them 2 years. And now they are about to be remade into something new again. As long as the zipper and button hold out, they are still use-able.
DD4 has some size 24 jeans that fit her so nice at the waist, but are too short.
So I changed them. They are knee length gaucho pants with funk flairs and ruffles. .
So I'm dying to remake this basket of clothes. They'll end up being next years school clothes and some summer clothes. I just am so far behind on so many other things, I don't have time! I need to catch up on cleaning the house,a nd re-organizing my studio, it's so bad right now, it's not even funny!!!
But if I don't get it done, i have no space to re-create. catch 22..lol

~The jeans and matching tank are adorable! I really love the feminine straps! I re-use clothes until there aren't any more usable pieces left too. Saves lots of $.~

Thanks! The tank has an invisible zipper..lol.
I need to do alot more of it. I have 4 kiddos. Ds is in uniform, so not much I can for him. But I have 3 girls! So lots of fun and creativity. As I said, I have a basket full of jeans, etc. I need to ask a friend for something too, it should be cool!
