Thanks! I actually have a real one, but she's shorter than I am so this would work better, and I can retire my friend to displaying a coat and hat.

We have a lady that offers a course to do this. Why a course? Because it takes some fine tuning and several hands to make them. Duct tape does tend to stretch out overtime as well, so you want to verify your measurements before you construct a closely tailored garment

~I saw this a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty neat. Reminded me of a story in Reminisce magazine in which a reader recounted her experience with a 'make your own dress form' kit she'd gotton by mail. It was basically paper mache and you had to stand upright for hours until it dried and then had it cut of your body. Glad I don't have to do that. I have an adjustable wire mesh one that I don't have space to set up right now. I'm saving it for my future sewing space though.~

I'd love to have a dress form because I sew... I've never seen this........ !!!!!!
thanks for posting it, I'll have to read it carefully to pick the easiest one to make.
ps. I have loads of duct tape around.

I make all my patterns now.
i can rarely find a pattern that makes projects (clothes or accessories) as easy as they ought to be made.
so just make my own!
all i need are measurements, a little logic & *POOF* I've got my patterns!
But this is REALLY interesting... AND using duct tape!

I guess they cut the shirt and stuff it.

you know this is a funny ( as in comical) thing to do.........
wrapping yourself up in tape.........
LOL !!!
but its a great idea.
On halloween you could set it in the window with a pumpkin head on top
LOL !!!!!!!
