    Question altering a dress

okay, so i have this dress, it's one of those full length, button down the front.

here's the problem, it sort of "puckers" around the boob area.
there's a top button, it's fine, a second button, this puckers, the third button is fine. so it's just that one.
i dont want to give anyone an eye shot they dont need (or deserve!) LOL

so how do i fix this?

    TIA!

I am trying to picture how the dress is puckering around the button.

Maybe the button is just not in the correct spot to line up correctly with the button hole. If it were too high or too low for where the button hole is, it would make it buckle.

ok so i've decided to work around this.

instead of re-doing the whole thing (seeing more work than it's worth here),
i'm going to sew in a false front to the dress. it's a red dress, and i was thinking a white "shell" with lace at the top to make it even out and look a little better.

here's the thing... i was thinking of putting a full shelf bra into the dress.
anyone have any experience with this and can give me some tips??

    thanks!

I have tried to alter things and it never comes out right....
maybe try one of those home made dress forms one of the other posters mentioned ?
I want to make one for myself, maybe will help in doing alterations.
