Default Help - Pattern for Swiffer Wet Jet Pad

My wheels have been turning. Can anyone think of a pattern for a swiffer wet jet pad? I was thinking an old diaper but I don't have access to any. Would I need velcro to make it stick? I think I could use recycled towels/clothing of some sort. Any suggestions? If I come up with anything I'll post it. I'm a beginning sewer so take it easy.

Is it the wet vac or the dry/wet dust mop?
If it's the wet/dry - I use and old wash cloth - it tucks right into the slots on top. It's washable too.
If it's the wet vac - how about an old wash cloth with elastic on each end. Just slide it over the base. I don't have one of these - so I'm not sure if that would work. The velcro idea sounds good.
It's best to make them washable - it sure saves money.

Thank you!!!!! I never thought of elastic. My dd had some elastic. She doesn't know where it came from but she gave it to me. I have the wet jet that sprays the cleaner and the throw away pad sticks to the bottom. I'm trying to figure out a way to reuse the cleaner bottle, fill it with my own cleaner.

I use old wash cloths on my swiffer that has the slots, I just tuck them in like you do! It does save a lot of money. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.

for the wet jet, i took some microfiber towels, folded them the same size as the mop head and sewed them. since the underside of the mop has velcro, the microfiber sticks.

I do have microfiber cloths. My husband bought a bunch at s swap meet. I'm going to try them before I sew anything else. Thanks!

I actually knit a swiffer pad earlier this year and haven't used it yet.... *BLUSH*

But the elastic is a good idea.

Another thought is to sew it into a pocket on each end so it folds over on itself just at the ends....

Diapers, microfiber towels, and possible felt if you have some laying around would work!
