What can I do with...
a queen size flannel fitted sheet that has a large hole in it

I don't want to toss it, there's a lot of good material left but I don't know what to do with it.
Do I make some cloth bags? Would it be sturdy enough? What would I use for straps? I'm not interested in reusable sanitary napkins. Any other ideas? Keep in mind, I can pretty much sew in a straight line and that's it
I thought about backing for window quilt, but it's not nearly big enough. My windows are 8 ft high
Not to mention it wouldn't begin to make a dent in the 50-some windows we have!

I patch my sheets when I find holes. I use iron on patches or iron on fusing? It's white and light weight. I patched one of our sheets with the white iron on fusing material and it has lasted for about a year, I need to do it again though, my fiance's toe went through one of the patches last week and he said all week it kept getting bigger. I will patch it again and see how long it lasts this time

Pillow cases. Who doesn't love a nice warm fuzzy pillow case? Also good for those thingys people make for gifts... rice packs you heat in the micro for sore muscles etc. kwim?
I just mended a flannel bottom sheet last week. I move my feet around alot when I sleep & wore a hole in it,lol. I used an old flannel shirt to cover the hole. Bringing up that sheet thread count with my fancy patch.

Pillowcases, cloth napkins, towels to use in kitchen vs. paper towels, rice bags. Baby blanket or burp pad for charity.
Or you could just patch it up

These are all excellent ideas.
I am wracking my brains for some other things.
In addition to the above, another idea is
** to use it as a lining for a bag,
** lining a bread basket,
** lining a basket filled with goodies,
** PJ's for the little ones (simple straight lines).

I usually make pillowcases or mend it if its not too bad. I have one cut up into pillowcases right now, just need to get he machine out and do it.
I wanted to make dd pajamas with it, but she just looked at me like I had lost my mind when I mentioned it, so its pillowcases.
