Is that the same as using vinegar?
Will you share your recipe and tips?
TIA

Paula,
Here's the recipe that I use.
2 Cups White Vinegar
2 Cups Baking Soda
4 Cups Water
Set mixing bowl in sink and slowly combine ingredents and then using a wisk, mix together. ~Baking soda and vinegar will fizz~ Then pour in a old fabric softener bottle. Use 1/4 cup or just put in your Downey bottle.
Homemade dryer sheets......
I got 2 free packets of downey in that mail. I took an old crib sheet and cut it into squares about the size of my hand...maybe a little bit bigger. I put the squares into an old baby wipe container....you can use anything with a lid. Then I poured the 2 packets of fabric softener in and added about 1/2 cup of water. I used enough water to cover the squares. Then I just shook the container up. To use....Grab a square and squeeze out the excess and toss in the dryer.

Vinegar in the laundry?
Does anyone know how much vinegar to use in the laundry? I have heard it is good as a fabric softener but I don't know how much to use.

Do you have a Downy ball? If so, just fill 'er up.
If not, about 1/2 to 1 cup should do the trick.

I use a small amount with my darks to help keep them dark. I read that tip in Marilu Henner's book!

Anyone use vinegar for fabric softener?
I honestly haven't tried this yet, but plan to. I'd like to say bye to dryer sheets.

I have always used vinegar. Except a few weeks ago I broke down and bought a bottle of fabric softner. lol But, I love vinegar. It does the job, and doesn't leave the vinegar smell on your clothes.

I haven't, but I only use fabric softener 'cause it makes my clothes smell good. I don't care if they're soft or not.

Vinegar is also good to remove the urine smell from clothes and bedsheets after nighttime "accidents"
